Mortgage Underwriter 2ndCharge / Second Charge

This is an excellent role with a lender who has gained a reputation for " a family feel within the office" and a huge level of success. Due to a recent influx of quality business and a pro-active new management team, they are keen to hire additional underwriters to already very successful BTL team.

The Rolefor the2ndCharge / Second Chargeunderwriter:

Key Responsibilities for the 2ndCharge / Second Charge Role:

Manage a pipeline of 2ndCharge / Second Charge Mortgage loan cases and prioritise accordingly. Underwrite 2ndCharge / Second Charge loan applications within company lending criteria by making quality lending decisions.

Be vigilant when working on cases and refer where necessary to the appropriate person.

Always maintain a high level of communication with interested parties including brokers, applicants, surveyors and solicitors.

Maintain a high level of customer service with those internally and externally.

Work closely with other departments within the company including sales, compliance, finance, and collections.

Think outside the box and be proactive when suggesting ways to overcome potential problems, whilst ensuring that there is no additional risk to the company.

Maintain oversight of a loan post completion and follow up on any offer conditions prior to handing the loan to collections.

Keep up to date with current best practice and regulatory requirements.

Represent the company at events as required.

Key Competencies for the 2ndCharge / Second Charge:

Experience of underwriting2ndCharge / Second Charge products ideally.

The role is fully office based and offers a competitive salary and supporting package.
