Quality Engineer

The Role: Responsible for the creation and implementation of BUKS Quality Control Inspection strategy.

Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.

Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.

Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.

Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.

Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.

Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.

Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.

Analyses non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.

Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.

Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.

Works under general direction.

Prepares, coordinates and monitors assigned projects across the Quality department.

Creates and implements BUKS Quality Inspection strategy to meet rate requirements.

Responsibilities
- Quality Engineer Develop work instructions for the set-up and operation of various inspection equipment Develop standard documents/internal processes that comply with Boeing policies and AS9100 Develop Inspection plans to ensure a robust, repeatable inspection process Create training material and to train others on various Quality related topics Interact with inspection equipment manufactures (OEMs) where technical advice and support is required to problem solve and implement changes etc.

Investigate and recommend new inspection technologies and methods and assist in acquiring and implementing new inspection technologies in support of production volume increases Influence senior management on quality based strategic decisions (e.g.

on the investment and introduction of new technologies in order to achieve rate requirements in Quality Control Inspection department) Present new company initiatives to the workforce in all-team meetings and smaller groups Lead the implementation of APQP/PPAP deliverables to the product catalogue (NPI/Work transfer and current work statement) Determine conformance of products based on data received from inspection equipment Complete First Article Inspection Reports Complete Quality investigations using standard Problem Solving techniques.

Perform root cause analysis on quality issues, gather defect data to support continuous improvement efforts, recommend solutions to complex problems and implement corrective actions Lead continuous improvement activities aimed at improving quality and reducing waste Collect and analyse data for measurement systems analysis, capability studies, gauge R&R etc.

Assist Quality Engineer or Quality Manager to define and deliver responses to customer requests and inquiries related to product quality/conformity Maintain documentation records and data Maintain configuration control on required QMS documentation and records Lead product/process audits Lead calibration activities Subject matter expert for the inspection of precision machined parts to various international and internal standards Review processes and provide feedback to Engineering on design and Manufacturing issues that emerge and work in cross-functional teams to find resolution Oversee/review/audit inspection activities when required to ensure compliance to process Work closely with Inspection personnel, Quality Engineers and Manufacturing Engineering to create and optimize inspection methods Manage various QA based projects to ensure production deadlines are met Proficient in the use micrometers, calipers, depth micrometers and various other hand tools Strong background in compliance/adherence to process Support day to day quality and production deliverables and initiatives Adhere to 5-S principles Perform any other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager Qualifications/Skills
- Quality Engineer Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in Aerospace Engineering/Quality Engineering ( Essential) Associate Degree or equivalent experience with a thorough understanding of Technical Drawing and GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)/interpretation of Engineering Drawings ( Essential ) Associate Degree or equivalent experience in Metrology ( Desirable ) Experience/knowledge of RCCA Problem Solving ( Essential ) Experience/knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management Systems ( Essential ) Experience/knowledge of PQP/PPAP ( Desirable ) AS9100 Lead auditor ( Desirable ) Work Authorization: This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK.

Candidates must have current legal authorization to work immediately in the United Kingdom.
