Job Type: Part-time/Full-time

Compensation: up to £17.00 p/h

Job Overview:

We are seeking a professional and experienced Head Waiter/Waitress to lead our front-of-house team. The Head Waiter/Waitress is responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining smooth dining operations. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a supervisory role within a high-volume restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the greeting and seating of guests, ensuring smooth and prompt service throughout the dining experience.
  • Ensure that orders are taken accurately and delivered promptly, while maintaining high standards of food presentation and service.
  • Lead by example, providing hands-on support during busy periods, including taking orders, serving food, and addressing guest inquiries.
  • Train and mentor waiting staff, providing guidance on service standards, customer interaction, and menu knowledge.
  • Work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication between front-of-house and back-of-house.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, ensuring the dining room is properly prepared before service and cleaned after service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable dining area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with inventory management, including restocking supplies and monitoring equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Head Waiter/Waitress or in a similar supervisory role in a high-volume restaurant or fine dining establishment.
  • Strong knowledge of food service operations and high-end service standards.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build rapport with guests and staff.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and solve problems in a calm and professional manner.
  • A keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering an outstanding guest experience.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage menus, including wine pairing and dietary considerations, is preferred.
