As a SHE Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of all SHE activities across our Top Tier CoMAH (Control of Major Accidents and Hazards) site. Being a subject matter expert, you will manage and develop the SHE team at site as well as working closely with key stakeholders across the business to drive Safety culture and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Active member of the Senior Management Team, supporting colleagues and ensuring continuous improvement.
• Chair of the Ensus Safety Committee, ensuring at least four meetings per year.
• Work closely with the HR Manager to ensure EHS induction and training is aligned with competence requirements for each role.
• Ensure a programme of Emergency Preparedness exercises and training is scheduled and completed by relevant team members.
• Lead and support incident investigations as required.
• Lead / support EHS related communication sessions to the Ensus team.
• Review, comment and approve method statements and risk assessments issued by Contractor organisations.
• Lead / take part in Ensus JSA’s and risk assessments in support of the Operations and Maintenance team, using agreed software to record the assessments.
• Ensus interface with the Regulator (Competent Authority and EA).
• Preparation for and leading Regulator Interventions (Health & Safety Executive, Environment Agency).
• Review and update management procedures agreed through the Process Safety Management framework (PSM / Non-PSM).
• Conduct / support audits of the Ensus management system.
• Produce monthly EHS KPI and Monthly Reports (currently Excel based).
• Attendance at Group and site meetings as required.
• Represent Ensus and support Operations Director for work associated with the CE EHS Strategy Meetings.

Skills, Qualifications, Competence Level

• Logical and ability to identify practical solutions.
• At least ten years of experience in a health and safety or environmental management role, within the Petrochemical, Oil and Gas or Nuclear industry.
• NEBOSH Diploma / H&S or Environmental related degree.
• Membership of a professional body (IOSH / IEMA).
• IEMA qualification (or equivalent).
