Take a look around Hockley House via our link here
If you want to know about the requirements for this role, read on for all the relevant information.
This is an exciting and rare opportunity to help shape, develop and support the Registered Manager in a brand-new Ofsted regulated children's home in Romsey, Hampshire. Due to open early 2025, the home will comprise of three self-contained living areas and a communal space. Innovative in purpose and approach, Hockley House will meet the complex needs of an identified cohort of children and young people who have significant emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs which do not meet the criteria for detention and treatment in hospital, or the threshold for secure accommodation, but require a high level of support.
With a planned multi-agency intervention package, children will experience the skill and expertise of Children's Services residential and education staff, along with co-located Health Services who will work within a common framework of trauma informed therapeutic intervention. Creating this new local provision will enable the children to maintain family contacts, with the goal of reuniting the child with their family or supporting their transition to independence.
Using your high-level leadership and communication skills, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the service before it is operational and ensuring that the delivery and continuous improvement of the service meets stringent quality standards.
You will also apply your understanding of multi-disciplinary approaches and effective partnership working to develop and sustain an aspirational, child centred culture and an integrated approach to maximise the outcomes for children in Hampshire.
Ideally you will hold a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or be prepared to complete this within 2 years of appointment, backed up by excellent communication skills and experience in leadership.
Once the home opens, the role will include some shift working, typically, as you would expect, these include a range of early, late or weekend shifts. Before this, you will work core hours with a combination of some shifts to support yours and the team's induction and preparations for opening.
