Job Title: Deputy Head of Care

Join our team as a Deputy Head of Care at Southlands School in Lymington, Hampshire. We are an ambitious, progressive, and caring independent residential and day school for young people aged 7–19 with a primary diagnosis of high-functioning ASD/Asperger's.

About the Role:

  • As a senior leadership and management role, you will be responsible for ensuring high standards of care and education for the young people.
  • You will work collaboratively with other members of the school senior leadership and management team to develop best practice.
  • Line managing the Home Managers and monitoring, evaluating, and supporting the staff to develop best practice.
  • Supporting the Registered Manager across the Children's Home and taking on a Registered Manager responsibility for the specific homes subject to a variation to the current Children's Home registration.
  • Deputising in the absence of the Head of Care, ensuring there is no disruption in service and the homes continue to be managed effectively on a day-to-day basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading, managing, supervising, and supporting the Care and Team Managers and teams of care staff.
  • Implementing Cambian policies fully and ensuring that the residential provision is open and transparent, respecting the privacy and dignity of the children and young people.
  • Supporting the Head of Care in the management of the KPI process.

Requirements:

  • Meet the person specification to be offered this post.
  • Enhanced DBS check and reference checks.
  • Ability to work flexibly and attend site as and when necessary to support the needs of the service.
