The Business
Loungers is an operator of >250 cafés, bars, and restaurants across England and Wales under three distinct but complementary brands, Lounge, Cosy Club and Brightside. The company operates successfully in a diverse range of sites and locations and is the only growing all-day operator of scale in the UK, with a strong reputation for value-for-money and venues that offer something for everyone regardless of age, demographic, or gender.
Performance
Loungers has consistently outperformed the UK hospitality sector over the past three years and continues to open c.30 new sites a year. Loungers is listed on the AIM with revenues of £353.5m - growth of 24.7% year-on-year. It is on track to be a constituent of the FTSE 250 – with an evolving investor base.
The Future
Loungers sees an opportunity to triple the size of the business over the next few years with a growth pipeline of up to 600 Lounges and 55 – 60 Cosy Clubs.
The Directors intend to continue to pursue an organic growth strategy, driven by the rollout of new sites, and an ongoing focus on operational improvements to drive further sales and margin growth across the existing estate. This strategy is consistent with the strategy successfully executed by the Group over the past three years.
The Role – Group Finance Director
Headquartered in a unique central Bristol location, Loungers has an opportunity for a new Group Finance Director to join the business as a direct report to the CFO.
As Group Finance Director you will be a business partner to the CFO, building and leading a high-performance, best-in-class, customer and centrally focused finance function, via two direct reports – a Head of Management Accounts and Group Financial Controller.
As Loungers continues to scale at rapid pace, there is a need to deliver a finance transformation agenda to improve the pace and quality of financial information, to aid decision making. The Group Finance Director will play a key part in this programme, and we are therefore ideally looking for someone with multi-site, large-scale, finance transformation experience.
This person will also bring significant leadership experience and must demonstrate the ability to inspire, motivate, coaching and developing their people to build an exceptional team with a strong track record of internal growth and development.
