We are seeking an experienced AI/Intelligent Automation Product Manager to join our Innovation Team. In this entrepreneurial role, the AI and Automation Product Manager will collaborate with stakeholders across the bank to uncover opportunities, rapidly prototype and iterate on solutions, and manage experimental pilot projects to validate product-market fit.
The incoming Product Manager will also be responsible for the UiPath RPA platform across the enterprise by governing policies and procedures, managing licenses and tooling, owning version upgrades and new feature integration, ensuring optimal performance, and advancing capabilities through proactive vendor management.
Key objectives of this role are:
- Drive the incubation of net-new AI/ML capabilities and intelligent automation tools that solve key business problems.
- Mine data and run workshops to uncover automation/AI opportunities.
- Translate ideas into prototypes and manage experimental pilot sprints.
- Analyse pilot results, quantify business case, and prepare for scale-up.
- Expand bank's portfolio of AI and Intelligent Automation solutions.
- Responsible for UiPath RPA platform governance, licensing, upgrades, etc.
- Continually advance UiPath platform capabilities and tooling
Background
The AI and Automation Product Manager role sits within the Innovation Team, which is part of Architecture & Engineering Group and serves as an internal incubator for the bank's most strategic initiatives.
This role will significantly shape the bank's roadmap for AI and Intelligent Automation capabilities. Key responsibilities include rapidly prototyping and launching new AI and automation tools that enhance efficiency, managing the existing RPA production portfolio, and continuously upgrading skills and platform capabilities.
Given the mandate to incubate net new solutions, this role will collaborate closely with business units and technology teams bank-wide to assess ideas and run experiments.
Critical partnerships include:
- Business unit process owners: Collaborate on opportunities, pilot process changes.
- Data science & analytics: Obtain data, shape models to prove concepts.
- Automation COE and development team: Govern existing portfolio, share best practices.
- Cloud engineering: Leverage cloud capabilities to build AI solutions.
- Infrastructure engineering: Build integrations between RPA and core systems.
- External vendors like UiPath: Negotiate contracts, integrate new capabilities.
- The role will influence strategic priorities and budget decisions related to the adoption of emerging technologies like AI and RPA across the organisation. As such, the Product Manager will interact closely with bank leadership and governance committees overseeing the responsible use of innovation.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Rapidly ideate, prototype, and pilot new AI and automation solution concepts to internal business unit stakeholders.
- Drive the outcome of incubating and transitioning viable proofs of concept to production teams for full scale development.
- Govern and advance the enterprise UiPath RPA platform optimising reliability, productivity and adoption of existing automation capabilities.
- Partner with the enterprise AI Center of Excellence and data science teams -- to integrate AI/ML models into prototype solutions -- with the outcome of demonstrating the potential of advanced analytics for process optimisation.
- Follow the incubation roadmap and structure for ideating, assessing, and experimenting with new AI and automations proving viability.
- Manage prioritisation for automation developers -- to enable prototypes and experiments, as well as deployment into production.
- Establish an RPA platform product and licensing strategy in collaboration with vendors like UiPath and internal stakeholders.
- Drive outcomes of advancing tooling capabilities while optimising costs and compliance.
- Manage automation annual licensing.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Knowledge & Experience:
- Hands-on experience rapidly prototyping, piloting and launching AI/ML models and RPA bots
- Ability to conduct technical requirements analysis sessions to capture business needs
- Strong analytical skills to build quantitative business cases
- Financial services industry domain knowledge with understanding of core processes and systems
- Broad understanding of available and emerging automation technologies like AI/ML, RPA, OCR, NLP etc.
Skills:
- Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication abilities
- Innovative problem-solving mindset coupled with attention to detail
- Sharp data analysis and visualisation skills to gather insights
- Strong project management and product ownership

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Business or related field (or relevant experience)
- Graduate degree such as MBA preferred but not required

- Maintaining platform reliability - As enterprise reliance on AI and automation capabilities grows, a major challenge will be governing the underlying RPA platform for continuous availability while also pushing needed upgrades.
