WGM Engineering are looking to recruit a Delivery Manager to lead the ES01 function, ensuring delivery is within budget and to customer requirements and standards. Full accountability for ensuring safety, customer quality, cost and delivery requirements are met. Responsible for developing an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team by building working relationships ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to. Manage the team on best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading the delivery teams. Implement and manage continuous improvement by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Effectively and efficiently manage the production of the required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with customer specifications, meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimising costs where possible and ensuring best working practices are maintained always
Responsible for the Workshop functions overall performance including, financial performance, meeting customer requirements and maintaining the orderly and productive operation of planned activities
Support team in determining the optimum approach to work execution and provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for more complex activities where necessary.
Assist with the team, particularly in complex or higher criticality equipment where engineering specifications or build tolerances require greater experience or knowledge to complete correctly.
Regularly ensure all jobs are closed, all documentation is checked and signed off
Provide rotating equipment site troubleshooting support
Ensure the target NPT level is achieved
Communicate and liaise with other business stream managers and functions regarding forward work projections to ensure NPT targets are met
Drive process improvements by appropriate data analysis
Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions
Produce written reports and make presentations
Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver activities, including the engagement of external resources as required
Apply Risk Assessments of tasks within the Workshop and Site Activity
Ensure that the Workshop operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors
Ensure pre-construction information and risk assessments are completed and site delivery is compliant with CDM 2015
Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
Set the team objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required
Manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels, managing holiday, recruitment, training, development, appraisal, timekeeping, disciplinary issues and daily supervision to maximise efficient productivity
Communicate Objectives from the Engineered Solutions business plan so that each team member is aware
Deputises in the absence of the GM Engineered Solutions as required
Expected to train to Temporary Works Co-ordinator (TWC) level in relation to the WGM Temporary Works Procedures.
To carry out the duties of the Temporary Works Co-ordinator (TWC), meeting the respective technical standard.
Duties and responsibilities are assigned under WGM Engineering management System and the Temporary Works Co-ordinator (TWC) is expected to follow the mandatory temporary works procedures as described in the WGM Engineering procedure (TWP1).
The Temporary Works Co-ordinator (TWC) is responsible to the Managing Director for ensuring the TW design is implemented and in accordance with the drawings and specifications.
As Temporary Works Co-ordinator (TWC) you confirm that you are competent and have the relevant up-to-date training and both the qualifications and experience appropriate to the complexity of the project and operations for which you are responsible.
The Designated Individual (DI) will confirm you have the resources and time available to carry out the appointment of Temporary Works Co-ordinator (TWC) as well as the authority to stop the work if not satisfactory.
Demonstrate awareness of the technical standard when carrying out your role.
To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous experience within a similar Project Management role ideally within an engineering or similar industry background. You will be qualified to degree level within a engineering discipline. A good understanding of water and waste water industry and processes is preferable. The Ability to write detailed reports and have a clear understanding of NEC form of contract is required within the role. Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving license is required as the will be travel to various sites across the country
