Outdoor Pig Manager

We have clients based in East Suffolk who are looking for a Pig Manager for one of their outdoor breeding herds.
This family-run pig farming business can offer great scope for growth and progression.
For the role, they are happy to consider a stockperson with some experience looking to progress into management or an experienced stockperson looking for the next step.
They can provide training, but the applicant would need to demonstrate a good understanding of how an outdoor breeding unit is run and that they have good management and leadership skills.
The position is on an outdoor breeding herd with 900 sows, working alongside a 3-week weaning team.
Person specifications:
- Must have good people & communication skills to motivate and organise staff
- Must have a passion for achieving excellent results
- Must have good knowledge of pig production
- Must have high welfare standards
- Knowledge and experience in tractor driving and telehandler operation are preferred.
Salary: £35,000 + a production bonus
Hours:
- Circa 40 hours Monday - Friday, although an expectation to work late on any given day may be required.
- One weekend on (circa 10 hours), one weekend off
