Ready to shape the next generation of PottersAn exciting opportunity has arisen at Oaklands for an experienced ACL Lecturer in Pottery to provide engaging and high-quality teaching inspiring students to develop their creative skills to produce good quality ceramic pieces.We are looking for an experienced ACL Lecturer in Pottery to join our team and play a crucial role in delivering our popular pottery course offer to adult students who are eager to learn and develop their skills from those who are at beginners level to those with more experience in the this position you will provide constructive feedback and guidance to help learners progress and achieve their creative goals.This role would be between 2-5 hours per week evenings term time only.Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning Plan and deliver creative pottery sessions for adult learners at varying levels (beginner intermediate advanced). Demonstrate a range of pottery techniques (including wheel throwing hand-building glazing). Create a welcoming inclusive environment that encourages creativity and social interaction. Adapt teaching to suit learners of different abilities and experience.Collaboration Liaise with the pottery technician to ensure equipment materials and kiln schedules are prepared and maintained. Work closely with other pottery tutors to share best practice.Health & Safety Ensure safe use of tools equipment and materials in the studio. Comply with college health and safety policies and procedures.Is This YouEssential Skills & Experience Strong practical skills in pottery and ceramics. Experience teaching or leading workshops for adults. Ability to create a relaxed enjoyable learning environment. Good communication and organisational skills.Desirable Previous experience in community or leisure learning settings. Teaching qualification such as the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or willingness to work towards it).Personal Attributes Friendly approachable and passionate about pottery.
