Youll help maintain a safe vibrant and well-equipped environment that enables students to develop their skills and bring their artistic visions to life.Your Day-to-Day ImpactStudio Support & Organisation Ensure our ceramics studios are well-prepared and fully equipped for learning. Youll maintain order and replenish materials manage specialist rooms and keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.Hands-On Technical Expertise From loading and offloading kilns to mixing glazes and maintaining tools your specialist skills will ensure every practical session runs safely and efficiently.Student & Staff Support Work closely with lecturers to provide in-class technical assistance and demonstrate equipment. Youll play an essential role in helping students gain confidence in their practical skills.Health & Safety Leadership Ensure all activities follow strict health and safety standards. Youll carry out risk assessments monitor student safety and maintain compliance with college policies.Creative Maintenance & Care Keep studios clean tidy and inspiring a space where creativity thrives. Youll carry out routine maintenance and take pride in a well-run professional learning environment.Is This YouYoure hands-on detail-oriented and passionate about the creative process. Whether youre preparing materials maintaining kilns or demonstrating techniques you bring a calm organised and positive energy to everything you do.Youll be a key part of a collaborative and creative team that values professionalism curiosity and a genuine love of making.What Youll BringEssential:NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in a vocationally relevant areaMinimum 1 years recent industry experience in ceramicsSpecialist skills in ceramic studio practice (e.g. kiln operation glaze mixing tool maintenance)Understanding of UK health and safety rulesExperience working with adults or learners in an educational or workshop environmentDesirable:Experience in an education or training settingKnowledge of inventory management and stock controlA passion for supporting learners in creative subjectsWhy OaklandsAt Oaklands youll be part of a college that values creativity innovation and community.
