SEN Teaching Assistant An 'Outstanding' SEN school in Harrow is looking for an experienced and approachable SEN Teaching Assistant for a position starting ASAP working with Autistic pupils SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant - Harrow SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant Harrow SEN School 'Outstanding' school Full time position Start ASAP Role Information For this position you will need to be an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who has worked with pupils who either have Severe Learning Difficulties or who are on the autistic spectrum. You will mainly be working with Key Stage 2 pupils who all have a diagnosis of autism and have significant delay in their academic and social ability. Many of these students have limited communication skills and as a result experience working with students who have speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) would be advantageous. This lovely Harrow SEN school uses PECS and Makaton in class to support the student's communication development. You will be working in a class of 8 pupils alongside another experienced SEN TA and a specialist SEN Teacher. The children are lovely, very well behaved and enjoy school however you will need to be able to work under your own initiative, have emotional intelligence, be mindful of your tone of voice/choice of words and body language, have good concentration levels, the ability to multitask and bring energy and enthusiasm to the job. ...
