Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer – West Midlands – initial 3 Months+ – Remote Working – Up to £55 per hour Umbrella

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with a reputable Local Authority in the West Midlands area who are recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts  Lawyer to join their department.

This assignment is offered on a full-time basis however candidates possessing relevant experience who can only offer part-time hours will also be considered.

The contract is for an initial period of 3 months and will be worked on a fully remote basis. This opportunity is suitable for an experienced Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within Local Government and have the ability to effectively manage a fast-paced and varied caseload.

Daily duties may include:

  • Involved in negotiating and advising on contractual agreements and settlements alongside handling both procurement and construction matters
  • Advising various parties on behalf of the Council’s clients, including charities, companies and members and officers of the Council Reviewing and amending in-house standard commercial documents
  • Providing legal advice predominantly surrounding matters of procurement, contracts, partnerships, JCT and NEC agreements alongside more general commercial and contractual work
  • Advising on g-cloud contracts, inter-authority agreements, partnerships and subsidy control agreements
  • Advising and drafting on a wide range of contracts for services, supplies and works in context of ongoing procurement exercises

The role is offering an attractive rate of up to £55 per hour umbrella dependent upon experience.
