Job Summary:Venue: O2 Academy OxfordCompany: Academy Music GroupLocation: OxfordReports to: General ManagerWorking Hours: Full timeJob Type: PermanentRoleThe assistant general manager is an integral position within the team responsible for a variety of duties that contribute to the effective management and smooth running of O2 Academy Oxford and lead exceptional delivery of our core business objectives and commercial targets. You will be passionate about the entertainment industry and highly motivated to deliver an outstanding experience to all clients and customers.Our teamO2 Academy Oxford is an established and thriving two-room venue where our shows club nights and events are as diverse as the individuals within it. The successful candidate will be contributing to managing developing and motivating an innovative team to ensure high quality service driving our inclusive culture to deliver the best possible programme of live entertainment for everyone where collaboration is at the heart of everything we do.About youExperience in the live entertainment industry clubs or venue managementProven track record in duty managing events in the live entertainment or club sectorKnowledge of health and safety regulations and licensingStrong communication and diplomacy skillsProficient in Microsoft Office packagesAn understanding of booking and promotion of live music and club eventsWhat we needThe following attributes determine how the role will be carried out and are required to be a successStrong client and customer service experienceDemonstrable leadership and motivation of othersPassionate and enthusiastic for the live events industryFlexibility to work irregular hours (weekends/evenings/public holidays)Willingness to build positive working relationshipsA proactive organiser in problem-solving who can negotiate solutionsWhat youll be doingWork collaboratively with the venue team local authority and Company head officeDuty manage events and programming to the highest standardAct as a point of contact and venue liaison for all contracted events and touring partiesMaximise the events diary with the general managerMaintain first-rate relationships with clients and partnersTrack and review cost estimates and expensesContribute to the Company business objectives and commercial targetsLiaise with outsourced contractors and service providersEnsure all paperwork and reporting is completed and professionally retainedAssist the general manager in all licencing administration and risk assessment Adhere to all existing and new health and safety legislationComply with all Company guidelines and working practicesEnsure the venue is maintained to the highest standardsCommunicate any building or department issues to the general managerLine management and training of team members as requiredSupport the general manager in their dutiesTo publicly represent the venue and Company in a professional mannerEqual OpportunitiesWe are passionate and committed to our people and go beyond the rhetoric of diversity and inclusion.
