This role was created with ‘succession-planning’ in mind, with a clear road map for progression and professional development over the short, medium and longer-term.
Here, you will play a key role in the day to day running of this firm’s insurance programme across a variety of commercial lines such as Motor Fleet, Employer’s & Public Liability, Goods in Transit and Property.
You will process and submit insurance claims to insurers, maintain databases and spreadsheets that detail the frequency and cost of claims, and deal with accident reports and the like. You will also help with general administration regarding the insurance programme, such as dealing with general enquires, questions about coverage, as well as collating management information and liaising with brokers.
In addition, you will also have duties that are not strictly in relation to insurance but are within related fields, such as collating information regarding driver training needs, assisting with maintaining the business continuity plan, and dealing with congestion charges and parking fines incurred by staff.
It is essential that you have experience of working within insurance, gained from either a broking, adjusting, underwriting or similar ‘inhouse’ environment. Ideally, this will include an element of dealing with claims, coupled with a knowledge of a number of classes of insurance. However, we welcome applications from candidates who are not experienced in claims, or who have limited exposure to different classes, if they can demonstrate a willingness and ability to quickly get up to speed.
You must have excellent attention to detail and strong data-entry skills, and you’ll pride yourself on the quality of your work. Just as importantly, you’ll have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and be confident with computers.
