We’re proud to be experts in what we do and are looking for a Hardware Design Engineer to join our brilliant team.The RoleReporting to the Technical Director, as a Hardware Design Engineer, you will support the development of new board level products using the latest (often pre-release) components to deliver market driving products.Based at our Colchester site or Theale office on a full-time/hybrid basis (and we’re flexible with what that looks like). We have flexible working with core hours of 10am to 3pm – working 37.5 hours per week. What will I be delivering?The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Work in a team carrying out digital hardware and firmware design and development of processor-based products from definition through to layout.Support the creation of schematics and PCB layout designs, ensuring the mechanical and thermal design comply with requirements/ schedule needs.Carry out design reviews including schematic and PCB layout.Prepare and submit technical work for review at lifecycle reviews.Perform and document analysis and development activities as directed.Final verification testingCreation of required design and user documentation.Reporting of technical issues and progress, supporting the Projects team with inputs on schedule and risk management.What do I need to bring with me?Essential skillsBEng/MEng/MSc/ in Electronic Engineering or similar/equivalent discipline;High-speed digital circuit design;Excellent problem solving and debugging skills;Good communication skills.Desirable skillsExperience working with PC motherboard architecture, e.g. microprocessors (64bit), PCI Express, 100 Gbit Ethernet, advanced Memory;Programmable logic devices or FPGA;Embedded Software experience/appreciation;Experience with Intel or ARM chipset.What sort of people are we looking for?You have fearless curiosity, embracing change as the catalyst for progress and performance.You’re committed to the customer and delivering great service.You are agile in the way that you work and are able to work at pace.
