Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)


Overview: We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial strategy for an Integrated Care Board (ICB). This role is pivotal in ensuring that financial targets are met in line with NHS objectives and that resources are effectively managed across the Integrated Care System (ICS). The CFO will also drive the development of a long-term financial strategy that aligns with broader system-wide goals, such as improving population health, reducing inequalities, and enhancing productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial operations, ensuring that the ICB meets revenue, capital, and administrative targets.
  • Collaborate with system partners to achieve financial goals across the ICS.
  • Develop and deliver a shared financial and resource strategy that reflects the needs and objectives of partner organizations.
  • Provide financial leadership, ensuring resources are optimally deployed to meet population health needs.
  • Support long-term planning and transformational change within the ICS, particularly in areas such as innovation, health outcomes, and tackling inequalities.
  • Lead on financial governance, risk management, and strategic financial planning, working with key stakeholders across health, social care, and public sectors.
  • Build and nurture strong partnerships with various ICS system leaders, including local government, healthcare providers, and the community sector.


Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant with experience in strategic financial leadership.
  • Strong track record of financial management within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-sectoral leaders to drive large-scale transformational change.
  • Ability to manage financial risk, implement financial governance frameworks, and develop long-term financial plans.
