Your new company You will be joining a leading civil engineering contractor based in the Birmingham area. Covering the Midlands region, this multi-accredited and well-established contractor offers a strong pipeline of work across multiple sectors and offers unparalleled opportunities for progression and professional development (including RICS APC). Their commitment to delivering an exceptional level of work has positioned them as a leader in the industry and, as part of their continued growth, they are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Birmingham office.Your new role As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing project costs, value and contractual relationships from mobilisation through to final account.Key responsibilities include:Procuring specialist trades and advising on subcontractor appointmentsDrafting and managing subcontract agreements and valuationsReviewing design developments and advising on cost implicationsIdentifying value engineering opportunitiesPreparing and agreeing monthly valuations with the Employer's RepresentativeParticipating in internal cost reporting and forecastingSupporting final account preparation and contractual adviceBuilding strong relationships across the wider project team.What you'll need to succeed In order to be successful, you will bring:Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar) or experience equivalentPrevious experience as a Quantity Surveyor within heavy civilsSound working knowledge of NEC form of contractExcellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skillsProactive, career-driven mindset with ambition to progress to Senior Quantity SurveyorFull UK driving licence.What you'll get in return In return, you will receive:Starting salary up to £60,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)Company car or car allowance (£9,000 per annum)26 days' annual leave plus bank holidaysFuel cardYearly reviews10% employer pension contributionStructured career development and mentorshipOpportunity to work on high-impact and rewarding projectsCollaborative and supportive team environmentOpportunity to grow and advance your career with an industry-leading contractor and more.What you need to do now If you're interested in this role and meet the criteria above, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.Please note - this contractor does not hold a licence for sponsored work visas.Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
