Who this role would suit
If you're ready to work on international, high-impact projects within the comfort of a small, collaborative team based out of our London office, then this is the role for you. You prioritise teamwork over individual agendas, combining your expertise with that of clients to respectfully push boundaries and inspire greater outcomes. You excel at facilitating high-level conversations, developing and maintaining relationships across all levels. Yet, you're just as comfortable engaging with stakeholders as you are diving into the details of managing project plans.
We value work-life balance - weekend working is rare outside of the requirements of a live event - but you'll be excited about the prospect and willing to travel internationally for client projects.
This role is a hybrid mix of being an excellent account manager, producer, strategist and project manager. It'll be the mix of these areas that will excite the right person to join the Ivory team in this role.
Role Description:
This is a newly created role reporting directly to the Managing Director of the London office, with a key focus on strategically maintaining, developing and growing our key client relationships. You'll also have a responsibility to lead on and develop experiential marketing strategies, campaigns, projects and events and, in some cases, to project manage them through to their execution. The Account Director will be able to interrogate a client brief and lead on proposals, then resource and oversee large project teams and budgets up to £5m.
Success in this role will be measured (and therefore we'd like you to be excited) by:
- Consistently growing assigned client accounts YOY as agreed with MD.
- Building and nurturing strong relationships with clients and colleagues – because our people come first, and Ivory's strength lies in its respectful and collaborative team.
- Proactively identifying and developing new business opportunities.
- Developing and executing impactful experiential B2B campaigns and events.
- Effectively managing project budgets, timelines and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Management: Full responsibility and main point of contact for assigned client accounts, including proposal preparation, and ensuring streamlined communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Client Management: Nurture relationships with clients to ensure project targets and expectations are exceeded and new opportunities are identified and acted upon.
- New Business Development: Proactively identify and act on new business opportunities, identify and attend networking events and collaborate with internal teams to ensure all business opportunities are maximised.
- Strategic & Content Development: Lead creative teams in understanding client objectives and drive the development of creative content and messaging that meets or exceeds those objectives.
- Production Execution: Maintain high-quality execution across all deliverables to ensure client satisfaction scores exceed targets ensuring quality control and consistency of the Ivory Way on client projects.
- Project Management: Responsible for meeting profitability targets, spotting and making efficiency improvements to ensure margins are maximised and ensuring projects are appropriately resourced to stick to budgets and team capacity.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven track record at Account Director level or as a Senior Account Manager, with demonstratable evidence that you're ready for promotion.
- Exceptional client management and interpersonal communication skills with a natural confidence and ability to communicate in written and verbal format appropriately with all levels of client and team member.
- A CV which demonstrates a background in the entire project lifecycle of experiential events production and project management for large-scale, international events.
- Strong project management, mentoring and cross-team leadership abilities.
- Proven ability to think strategically, problem-solve, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- An innate interest in identifying future market trends and adapting strategies to better support the business's needs and goals.
