Experis have partnered with a well-recognised client in the South East looking to recruit a Data Engineer on a contract basis.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing data pipelines that support our data-driven initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that data is efficiently processed, stored, and made available for analysis. Your expertise in Azure Data Factory and Azure DevOps will be essential in automation and optimizing our client’s data workflows.
Candidates must hold active SC Clearance or be eligible to obtain SC Clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement solutions that meet business needs.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for data engineering projects using Azure DevOps, ensuring smooth deployment and operations.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and performance.
- Automate data processing tasks to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency across data workflows.
- Ensure data security and compliance with industry standards and regulations throughout the data pipeline lifecycle.
- Document data engineering processes, including pipeline architecture, data flows, and best practices.
Key Experience Required:
- Proficiency in using Azure Data Factory for building and managing data pipelines, including experience with data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for implementing CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automation in data engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, including ETL/ELT processes, data modelling, and data warehousing.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or similar for automation tasks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize data pipelines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment.
- Experience with other Azure services such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, or Azure SQL Database.
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality management practices.
- Familiarity wit big data technologies and frameworks.
