About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Facilities Manager to join our team at Amazon Web Services. As a key member of our infrastructure operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our data centres.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the data centre, ensuring 24/7 availability and reliability.
  • Lead and manage teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise.
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of facility maintenance, including power distribution, cooling systems, fire suppression, and security.
  • Improve processes and procedures through innovation and simplification.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.
  • Create and maintain metrics on all aspects of our data centres.
  • Implement mechanisms for incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency response.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute data centre expansion and improvement projects.
  • Manage the operations budget and expenditures.
Requirements
  • Advanced electrical or mechanical certifications (degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline is also acceptable).
  • Experience working in data centres with an emphasis on building and equipment operation.
  • Experience in a management position with 5 or more direct reports.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent understanding of electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data centre operations.
  • Proven track record of people management and developing teams.
  • Ability to solve problems at their root and maintain SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting.
