We are currently seeking a Fencing Operative to join our Estate services team in Halifax. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of fences on our properties. This is an important role that contributes to the safety and security of our residents.

Requirements

Outline of Key responsibilities for the Fencing Operative...

  • Install, repair, and maintain fences on our properties.
  • Prepare and clean the work area before and after completing tasks.
  • Handle and operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all operations are compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • To carry out fencing repairs, erect new fencing, and support other teams in the service area as needed.
  • To assist in training a team of trainees for the fencing improvement program.
  • To help the Supervisor organize work, order materials, and ensure projects are completed on time and maintain quality.
  • To supervise and train Trainees and Apprentices, ensuring their safety and service standards are met.
  • To always follow good health and safety and equal opportunities practices and understand all Risk Assessments for tasks.
  • To work in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • To assist in motivating staff, volunteers/placements, trainees, and apprentices to provide high-quality customer service.
  • To support various departments as directed, including Mobile Cleaning, Estate Services Team, and Grounds Maintenance.
  • To be easy to do business with and deliver great services.

We are looking for someone who has...

  • Experience in fencing installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Full UK driving Licence
  • Knowledge of different types of fencing materials and construction techniques.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and time management skills.

  • Starting salary: £23,997 per annum
  • Annual salary increment increases
