Lead Sports Performance Coach

Location: UK (based at KPI’s training facility; travel/ online support as required)Salary: £30,000 + per annum (dependent on experience), full-time, salaried employeeHours: 40 hours per weekReporting to: Founder / Head CoachPurpose of the RoleKPI seeks a highly capable, charismatic performance coach to deliver high-quality strength & conditioning and rehabilitation services, manage online athlete support, assist with operations, and contribute to business growth. This is a hybrid role blending in-person coaching, rehabilitation/return-to-play support, athlete management, organisational support, and brand representation. This hire will be instrumental as KPI continues its expansion into more sports, worldwide delivery, and consulting services.Package includes- Career progression and incentive opportunities tied to long-term growth- Coaching in diverse populations and across one to one and group settings- Broad roles and responsibilities for well-rounded development- Access to CPD opportunities- 30 days paid annual leave per year (inc. national holidays)- KPI clothing / uniform- Flexible working arrangements (flexi-hours, work at KPI, and work from home)- Parking and on-site gymKey ResponsibilitiesCoaching (50%)- Conduct athlete assessments, performance testing, monitoring and progress tracking- Individualised programme design aligned with sporting and club requirements- Design and deliver in-person training sessions for athletes (various sports)- Contribute to gym- and field-based delivery of services- Provide rehabilitation support for injured athletes, alongside medical professionalsOnline Support (25%)- Schedule periodised training programmes across micro, meso and macrocycles in coordination with club / team / sport commitments- Monitor training prescription with our in-house athlete management system- Communicate regularly with clients and key stakeholders- Deliver education across multiple platforms to a diverse range of individualsOperations & Admin Support (25%)- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team of staff members- Explore and support growth into new sports, populations and business avenues- Support projects and initiatives relating to current or prospective avenues- Represent KPI at external events, visits and workshops- Capture, handle and produce key content for educational and marketing purposes- Contribute to the general upkeep of the business premisesEssentials list- Master’s (MSc) level degree in Sports Science / Strength and Conditioning (or equivalent)- 5+ years sports science / strength and conditioning coaching experience- Knowledge of rehabilitation/return-to-play (or strong willingness to develop quickly)- Employment history in competitive sports organisations- Strong scientific research background and underpinning- Personally healthy, active, and well-being conscious- Computer, data, and sports technology literate- Experience working with both adult and youth athletes- Fantastic communication and interpersonal skills with a charismatic personality- Strong work ethic – passionate, punctual, reliable, professional, and enthusiastic- CRB / DBS checked- First Aid certificate- Full U.K. driving licence or ability to travel to and from KPI’s premisesDesirables list- Doctorate level degree / working towards in Sports Science (or equivalent)- Experience working in professional football organisations- Experience working in private / external sports performance fields- UKSCA / ASCA / NSCA accreditation- Experience managing a group of staff
