Parking Appeals and Representations Officer

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Greenwich to assist with the appointment of a Parking Appeals and Representations Officer on a 5-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay: 17.87- 22.58 per hour Summary: The Parking Appeals and Representations Officer will play a key role within the Back Office Parking Team responsible for managing all statutory correspondence and investigations relating to Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs). The postholder will handle formal and informal challenges representations and appeals ensuring that all cases are processed accurately efficiently and in full compliance with relevant legislation and Council policy. They will be expected to assess evidence objectively make fair and balanced decisions and produce high-quality written responses within strict deadlines and productivity targets. This post operates on a career grade (SC5SO1) offering progression based on performance experience and achievement of set competency levels. Responsibilities: Prepare detailed and accurate evidence packs for submission to London Tribunals ensuring compliance with procedural requirements and quality standards.Identify opportunities for improving service delivery streamlining processes and enhancing customer experience.Deliver all duties in accordance with the Councils Health and Safety Equal Opportunities and Customer Care policies.Perform all duties to a consistently high standard under pressure and within strict time constraints.Ensure all activities are conducted in full compliance with legal procedural and data protection (GDPR) requirements. Requirements: Good level of education demonstrating literacy and numeracy skills.Ability to interpret written legislation and procedural guidance accurately.Experience in administrative legal or enforcement environments (e.g. local government parking services or complaints handling).Proven ability to analyse evidence interpret legislation and make informed decisions.Experience producing detailed written reports or correspondence to a high professional standard.
