Project Manager – (Civils / OHL / Cables)CMC are working with a major contractor delivering a National Grid transmission project and are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a strong civils background and proven OHL and cable experience.This role will suit someone who has worked directly on National Grid frameworks or projects and understands the standards, processes, and safety requirements involved.Key responsibilitiesEnd-to-end project management of National Grid transmission worksManagement of civils, overhead line (OHL), and cabling activitiesAct as PCSM (Project Construction Safety Manager) for the projectManage programme, cost, risk, and quality in line with NG requirementsCoordinate subcontractors, engineers, and site teamsEnsure compliance with National Grid standards, HSE legislation, and CDM regulationsInterface with National Grid stakeholders and internal senior managementLead safety culture on site and across delivery teamsRequirementsStrong Project Manager experience on National Grid projects (essential)Background in civil engineeringProven experience delivering OHL and cable worksNational Grid PCSM experience / accreditationStrong understanding of NG processes, permits, and safety systemsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAble to manage multiple workstreams and prioritiesDesirableExperience working for major NG contractors (e.g. Balfour Beatty, Murphy, Linxon, Omexom, Siemens Energy, Hitachi Energy)SMSTS / NEBOSH or equivalent HSE qualificationsDegree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related disciplineLocation: SouthamptonContract Length: 12 months
