Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Windows Network Management, Support and Maintenance
• Manage physical and virtual servers.
• Handle user management, including creating and troubleshooting user accounts.
• Ensure PCs and laptops are in good working order, performing regular maintenance.
• Manage security across users, computers, and servers.
• Oversee printer management and resolve issues as needed.
• Install software and troubleshoot application issues across the network.
• Perform first and secondlevel servicing of devices such as fixing broken peripherals.
• Manage internet access, filtering, and network security.
• Build and maintain new stations using Windows Deployment Services.
• Ensure the backup system is maintained, tested, and secure.
• Monitor and update Windows Server infrastructure.

2. Infrastructure Management/Maintenance
• Manage cabling, core switches, and edge switches including VLANs and troubleshooting.
• Maintain wireless network devices and access points.

3. Internet Connectivity (ISP) Management
• Liaise with the Internet Service Provider to ensure network security and proper configuration.
• Oversee remote access security.
• Resolve ISPrelated issues promptly.

4. Google Workspace for Education Management
• Troubleshoot and build Chrome desktops, managing Google Workspace applications.
• Administer user management and Chromebook deployment.

5. Chromebook and Trolley Support
• Support and maintain all Chromebooks.
• Perform audits and ensure trolleys are functional.
• Manage the loaning of Chromebooks to students in need.

6. Apple Network and Computer Support
• Integrate Apple hardware into Windows Active Directory.
• Manage Apple server and backup systems.
• Maintain Apple hardware and applications.

7. Exam Support
• Manage and create exam accounts and ensure compliance with requirements.
• Provide the necessary technology and equipment during exam periods.

8. Audio Visual Equipment Support
• Troubleshoot and maintain AV equipment including projectors, interactive whiteboards, and speakers.

9. Cashless Catering System Support
• Troubleshoot issues with the cashless catering system, including servers, tills, and payment systems.
• Coordinate with service providers to ensure smooth operation.

10. Telephone System Maintenance
• Resolve telephony-related issues and liaise with the telephony support provider for unresolved problems.

11. Website Maintenance
• Manage the school's website content, performing regular audits and updates.

12. Digital Signage System Maintenance
• Ensure the digital signage system (plasma displays) is functional.

13. IT Asset Management
• Maintain uptodate IT asset registers, including details of licenses, warranties, and disposals.

14. Liaising with External Agencies and Suppliers
• Collaborate with thirdparty service providers for server support, SIMS, hardware, telephony, catering, and other IT systems.

Additional Responsibilities
• Supervise and mentor IT apprentices and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
• Support assemblies and attend training sessions.
• Contribute to IT budget projections and maintain a maintenance schedule for equipment replacement.
• Keep records, including network maps, inventories, and contracts.
• Manage procurement of IT devices and software, ensuring best value.
• Ensure compliance with Data Protection regulations.
• Promote equality and prevent discrimination in line with school policies.
• Contribute to a positive school image and work in accordance with all relevant policies.

Person Specification

Experience:
• Previous experience in school IT support (desirable).
• Proficiency in supporting Microsoft Windows Server, Google Applications for Education, and Apple hardware.
• Strong problemsolving and project management skills.

Qualifications:
• Evidence of continued professional development.
• Desirable qualifications in Microsoft Server, Networking, Google Apps for Education, or Apple support.

Knowledge:
• Windows Desktop and Server Support.
• IT network management.
• Google Apps for Education.
• Audio Visual Equipment Support.
• Apple Server and Desktop Support.

Personal Qualities:
• Strong communication skills, able to interact with staff at all levels.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and positive attitude under pressure.
• Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Self-motivated with a collaborative, can-do attitude.
• Willingness to share knowledge and support others.
