We're committed to supporting everyone here at believe housing and being an inclusive organisation.Although this role is advertised as full-time, we will consider part-time, job share and alternative working pattern proposals where possible.Where and when you work is flexible depending on the demands of your role, our customers’ needs and your individual work preference (as agreed with your manager).Our offices are based in Seaham and Bishop Auckland and although we work flexibly, you will be required to be onsite some days every week with some offsite work and would need to be North East based in the UK.About the roleThe Risk and Assurance Specialist will have operational responsibility for the development and maintenance of a robust and effective risk management and assurance framework across believe housing. The post holder will work jointly with the Risk and Assurance Manager, Executive Management Team, Directors and Assistant Directors to develop and review our risk registers, controls assurance strategies and key risk indicators. Providing support surrounding the oversight and reporting of Risk, Assurance and Compliance activities across the organisation.The successful candidate will:Work jointly with the Risk and Assurance Manager in the development, integration and review of an effective risk management framework and value adding controls assurance activity, ensuring contribution to believe housing’s performance management framework.Provide support in the preparation and implementation of a risk management toolkit, embedding risk management in action across believe housing.Support the Risk and Assurance Manager in the development and implementation of an integrated risk and assurance model, suite of risk scorecards and early warning indicators. Examine key processes, risks and controls, constructively challenge control weaknesses and identify control improvements across believe housing.Prepare Board, Audit Committee, EMT and Directorate reports in conjunction with the Risk and Assurance Manager in relation to strategic, operational and project risk registers, planned reviews of believe housing’s risk management framework, policy and appetite and quarterly risk updates on the business assurance activity.Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and the management and analysis of large data sets and complex information.What’s on offer?Our people are our greatest asset which is why we value you, encourage you, look after you, and empower you.As well as a competitive salary of £43,074 - £44,420 per annum, we offer some great benefits and rewards.From our annual leave entitlement (up to 33 days, plus four volunteering days per year) and competitive pension scheme, to our flexible 'working the believe way' patterns that put your wellbeing front and centre, there's really a lot on offer.Our culture is second to none.
