We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and passionate Financial Controller who will be the number one in Finance reporting directly to our European Group HQ Team and will also be a key member of the UK management team. The role is a blend of accounting, operational and commercial responsibilities supporting a UK SME.The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, managing risks, and leading a small finance team. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills, who can drive financial performance and provide insights for decision-making.Hours of work: part time 30 hours per week.Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 FTE (pro rata) DOE Hybrid working with the office available in York. You are required to work from the office 3 days per week.Key Skills and Experience: Experience managing standard monthly and yearly processes and accounting controls, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timeliness.Experience producing accurate management accounts and KPI’s on a monthly basis.Experience leading a finance team with direct people management responsibilities.Experience collaborating across departments to ensure that finance goals and objectives align with the company strategy.Experience leading on external audits, preparing the year end pack, and collaborating with auditors to ensure group year-end reporting deadlines are met.Experience managing key relationships with internal stakeholders, tax advisors, banks, insurance brokers and pension providers.Experience providing financial input, developing forecasts and variance analysis to support business decisions.The ideal candidate will have:ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA chartered qualificationProven experience post qualification in a financial management role, preferably in a similar industryWillingness to be hands on, an eye for detail and a driver of continuous improvementWorking knowledge of Sage 200 is an advantage but not essentialExperience within a SAAS business is an advantage but not essentialExcellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skillsStrong stakeholder management skillsIn return, we will provide:Hybrid working with offices available in YorkA positive, collaborative working environmentQuarterly socialsHolidays starting at 25 days, increasing up to 30 days, 1 day for each year of serviceVitality HealthLife Assurance PolicyPension scheme (4% employer contribution)Modern working facilitiesPool/ Table Tennis available in the officeOn-site parkingPizza Thursdays on the last Thursday of the monthCycle to Work SchemeDiversity Statement:Optix Software Ltd is committed to equal opportunities in all aspects of our work.
