PURPOSE OF POST:The post holder will be a positive role model for students, actively supporting the school's ethos and participating in self-evaluation and development. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:- Carry out professional duties as identified in the 'School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document.'
- Engage in planning that meets the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND and those with unique gifts and talents.
- Act as a subject specialist, monitoring and assessing policy and teaching strategies while collaborating with colleagues.
- Monitor pupil progress, maintaining appropriate records and using data to inform targets and lesson planning.
- Contribute to the school's appraisal process and participate in their own appraisal.
- Support the school's pastoral system within the year group and class.
- Assist in deploying support staff and resources effectively within the class.

- Experience: Teaching in the relevant subject area; working with children with English as an Additional Language.
- Skills/Abilities: Able to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, use IT to support the curriculum, work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, monitor and evaluate teaching and learning, identify resources for high-quality teaching, assess individual needs for lesson planning, and deliver high-quality lessons.
- Competencies: Motivation to work with young people; ability to form appropriate relationships with young people; emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours; appropriate attitudes to maintaining discipline.
- Equality Issues: Commitment to inclusive teaching; awareness of discrimination effects.
- Specialist Knowledge: Subject/KS knowledge.
- Education and Training: Qualified Teacher Status; evidence of ongoing CPD; evidence of meeting threshold standards; sustained performance in threshold standards.
