Performs journey level work in painting redecorating and refinishing of walls interior and exterior woodwork furniture and fixtures for renovation and maintenance. Prepares interior or exterior walls metal surfaces floors ceiling and equipment for painting applies and fills holes in plaster or woodwork with patching plaster putty or other type filler compound. Erects ladders or scaffolding needed for painting and repairing interior and exterior walls. Performs shop work at facilities. Inspects work sites to determine amount and type of materials needed for painting projects.Essential Functions Performs journey level work in painting redecorating and refinishing of walls interior and exterior woodwork furniture and fixtures for renovation and maintenance at the Chester Mental Health Center.Prepares interior or exterior walls metal surfaces floors ceiling and equipment for painting applies and fills holes in plaster or woodwork with patching plaster putty or other type filler compound.Erects ladders or scaffolding needed for painting and repairing interior and exterior walls.Performs shop work at facilities.Inspects work sites to determine amount and type of materials needed for painting projects.Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school.Requires successful completion of a recognized painter apprenticeship program and two (2) years of fulltime journey level painter experience or six (6) years of full-time journey level painter experience.Conditions of Employment Requires a valid appropriate drivers license.Requires ability to work overhead and on knees.Requires ability to operate power lifts and overhead platforms.Requires ability to work from heights (on ladders scaffold and platforms) stand for long periods and liftand move heavy equipment materials structures and furniture up to 50 pounds independently and upto 75-100 pounds with assistance.
