The Challenge
The People Experience Specialist will play a key role in building, developing and enhancing a seamless and engaging people experience at Slater Heelis. This is a specialist role that will be delivering across a broad portfolio of people activity, actively contributing to and delivering high-impact projects and initiatives at as we target further growth.
This role will be instrumental in supporting our leaders and teams, shaping our evolving culture, developing an environment of continuous improvement where our teams thrive and achieve lasting success and high performance.
- Ideate, co-create and execute on key work streams and projects, designing and shipping products within the People Roadmap across Lawfront autonomously and collaboratively.
- Act as a change agent, designing, delivering and embedding change initiatives across the whole employee lifecycle.
- Recognise that not all employees are the same, customising to the unique needs of different employee segments.
- Process optimisation - evaluate, streamline and enhance people processes and initiatives to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and employee satisfaction.
- Upskilling, coaching and developing our people leaders.
- Advise on different people programs/products, designing employee comms.
- People operations – manage people operations at all stages of the employee lifecycle within designated functional areas.
- Partner with leaders on employee relations matters, driving solutions and collaboration, keeping up to date with Employment Law (UK).
- Provide support in the development and updating of people policies and procedures.
Day to day this might look like -
You'll lead on different areas of people experience at Slater Heelis, for example -
Learning and Development
- Assess training needs, co-creating and design learning and development experiences to support career development. Evaluating and iterating.
- Coordinate and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and e-learning opportunities.
Onboarding
- Co-creating and managing a comprehensive onboarding program to ensure a smooth and welcoming transition for new hires.
- Complete necessary onboarding checks, send out offers and employment contracts, coordinate onboarding schedules, orientation training and periods.
Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging
- Collaborating with the DIB Committee and firm leadership to ensure diversity and inclusion initiatives align with company goals.
- Organise and deliver training and awareness programs on diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
Wellbeing
- Co-creating, developing and implementing deliberate wellbeing programs that promote physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
- Conduct and support wellbeing meetings and programs, liaising with health practitioners and external partners where necessary.

- You show awareness and understanding of people experience principles such as design thinking, agile HR and human centred design.

- You have a strong working knowledge of UK employment law.
- Problem solving comes natural to you. You’re also agile, resilient, empathetic, humble, self-aware and highly organised.
- You’re an excellent communicator and natural influencer - you instil trust, you build relationships quickly and take a collaborate approach to strong stakeholder engagement.
- You have strong technology & digital literacy – you have hands on tech experience optimising digital solution platforms and tools.
