Legal Services Team Leader

A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Legal Services Team Leader to join a top law firm in Birmingham. This is an excellent role for a qualified lawyer with proven supervisory experience to take on a hands-on leadership role within a fast-paced and innovative environment.As Team Leader, you will oversee their centralised paralegal teams (both permanent and contract) across a wide variety of projects, including large-scale document review and due diligence matters for all Practice Groups. The role offers exposure to diverse sectors, dynamic work, and the chance to develop cutting-edge expertise in legal technology, including AI-driven document review and automated contract drafting tools.You will work closely with management and the Legal Operations teams to deliver efficient, high-quality services while supporting the development and well-being of your team. You will also contribute to business development, marketing, and recruitment initiatives, gaining a broad understanding of the wider business.The role:Supervising teams of paralegals on multiple projects, including briefing, work allocation, quality assurance, addressing queries, and day-to-day oversight.Leading pastoral and professional development conversations with paralegals.Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest client standards.Supporting the development of best practice guides, briefing notes, and worked examples.Coordinating with external vendors, managing deadlines, and ensuring smooth collaboration.Building knowledge and capability in emerging legal technology tools.Assisting with resource planning across the team.About you:UK or Foreign Qualified Solicitor (with current practising certificate) or CILEX lawyer.Demonstrable experience supervising junior lawyers and/or paralegals (essential).Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple, concurrent projects.Experience across multiple practice areas such as Litigation, Corporate, or Real Estate; transactional experience would be particularly advantageous.Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.A proactive approach, with an enthusiasm for innovation and technology in legal services.This is a rare opportunity for a Lawyer take on a pivotal leadership role in a top, international law firm, working at the forefront of legal service delivery in a collaborative, forward-thinking team with an excellent work-life balance.
