We are seeking an experienced T-SQL Developer to join the Synechron team. This position is predominately remote with occasional travel to Sheffield working with a global energy firm. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in Transact-SQL, with a solid understanding of database design, performance optimisation, and advanced SQL features. This role requires problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical solutions effectively.Key Responsibilities:Develop, optimise, and maintain complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functionsAnalyse and troubleshoot query performance issues, implementing indexing strategies and optimisation techniquesDesign efficient and scalable database schemas with a thorough understanding of normalisation, relationships, and indexingManage error handling and debugging within T-SQL scripts, including transaction managementUtilies advanced T-SQL features such as Common Table Expressions (CTEs), window functions, and dynamic SQL to solve complex data problemsEnsure database security best practices, including managing permissions, roles, and encryptionCollaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide clear, well-documented solutionsContinuously stay updated on new trends, tools, and best practices in database development and SQLQualifications:Proven experience as a T-SQL Developer with strong command of Transact-SQLDemonstrated ability to write complex queries, stored procedures, triggers, functions, and use advanced SQL featuresStrong problem-solving skills, with the ability to approach and resolve complex data challengesExperience in query optimisation, indexing, and performance tuning, including real-world examples of improvementSolid understanding of database design principles, normalisation, and relationshipsKnowledge of error handling, debugging, and transaction management within T-SQLFamiliarity with tools such as SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Azure SQL Database, or other database management systemsGood communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts and solutions.Preferred Skills:Experience working with large datasets and high-performance applicationsKnowledge of database security practices and encryption techniquesFamiliarity with additional tools and technologies linked to SQL Server or similar platformsLong term contract position - Predominately remote - Rate £530pd Inside IR35Diversity StatementSynechron are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
