Role Overview: As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of projects, ensuring they are completed efficiently, profitably, and to the highest standards. You will play a critical role in managing project finances, contractual obligations, and risk management, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and profitability.
- Monitor project expenditures and forecast financial outcomes.
- Conduct regular financial reviews and provide accurate financial reports to senior management.

Contract Management:
- Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and management of contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions, and manage any contractual disputes.
- Evaluate and manage risks associated with contracts and propose mitigation strategies.

Cost Control and Value Engineering:
- Implement effective cost control measures and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Lead value engineering efforts to optimise project costs without compromising quality.
- Conduct regular cost analysis and provide recommendations for cost improvements.

Tendering and Estimating:
- Lead the preparation and submission of competitive tenders and bids for new projects.
- Analyse tender documents, specifications, and drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with the project team to develop comprehensive bid strategies.

Project Management Support:
- Provide commercial support to project managers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project progress, identify any commercial issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines and budgets.

Stakeholder Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Act as the main point of contact for all commercial matters, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Resolve any commercial conflicts or disputes in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and financial management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in commercial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
