DescriptionWorkforce Development OfficerPermanentGradeConsultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity ReviewWorking 36.5 hours per weekAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Grade 4 officer to work within the Early Years and Childcare Service. You will be an experienced professional who has a secure understanding of early education childcare policies practices and the legislative framework. You will have a sound understanding or experience of Early Years & Childcare workforce issues.The role will provide effective strategies support the sufficiency recruitment retention and quality of the Early Years and Childcare workforce in Birmingham. Supporting childcare and early education providers to improve the quality of their provision through effective recruitment staff induction and continual professional development of staff trainees and volunteers. Work effectively in partnership with all key stakeholders to raise outcomes for settings as inspected by Ofsted contributing to improving childrens outcomes at the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage.You will work within a team to provide professional support to early years settings. You will support the recruitment and retention of good quality staff to the early years and childcare sector. You will plan projects and activities taking into account current and future strategies and national initiatives on workforce development as well as local priorities. The role will also support developing and co-ordinating the work of the relevant workforce stakeholders for early years and childcare and support progress and collaborative working towards agreed outcomes for the Childrens Workforce Strategy in Birmingham.The successful candidate will be required to :Have a good general standard of education (Level 3 or equivalent including Maths and English.Have a Childcare qualification Level 3 NNEB or equivalent.Have experience of research and presentation of findings/results to a variety of audiences.Have an understanding or experience of Early Years & Childcare workforce issues.Have experience of partnership working and liaising with a range of agencies.For informal enquiries about this position please contact: Please upload an up-to-date CV and Personal Statement via the attachments part of your application.
