Cloud Architect


Our trusted partner, a SaaS corporation that improves the lives of thousands of people daily, is hiring an AWS Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of its AWS roadmap, which will establish its cloud-first strategy from legacy on-premise technology. Ideally, the chosen candidate will have background in on-premise technology (SQL Server, VMware, Windows Server) with proven migration experience into AWS.


Our client is looking to pay a basic salary of £82,000 + benefits to be operational on a fully remote basis. This is a challenging position, with opportunity to lead a company through transition to a modern server-less environment.


Core responsibilities:

  1. Design and Implementation: As lead cloud architect, design, create, and deploy a scalable, secure, and robust cloud solutions strategy and deployment on AWS.
  2. Optimization: Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and reliability, ensuring efficient resource utilisation.
  3. Security: Implement and manage security best practices, including IAM, VPC, encryption, and compliance with industry standards.
  4. Automation: Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform, automating deployments and configurations.
  5. Innovation: Stay current with AWS advancements and industry trends, driving innovation and continuous improvement in our cloud practices.


Key technical skill requirements to be succesful:

  1. Strong experience in cloud architecture and design with focus on AWS.
  2. In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC.
  3. Experience with infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar tools.
  4. Strong understanding of security best practices and frameworks, including IAM, encryption, compliance, and Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM).
  5. Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, ELK stack, or similar.
  6. Proficient in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
  7. Experience with data storage and databases on AWS, such as DynamoDB, Aurora, and Redshift.
