Join us as an IT Test Engineer at our Portsmouth or our customer site in Corsham where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.The RoleAs an IT Test Engineer you will join a team that is taking part in a novel programmes building critical deployable IT infrastructure within the Defence environment.Day-to-day youll be required to operate as part of a core test team within an enterprise scale development environment placing you at the heart of the modernisation of Defences deployable IT estate.Your responsibilities will include:Undertaking testing on IT systems and IT InfrastructureCreating test scripts and undertaking test execution when required for critical systems under developmentDelivering outputs such as technical documentation trails plans and reports test plans and developing test scripts working to both time and budgetExecuting test cases in support of infrastructure testingUndertaking formal and informal testing as directed by Test ManagersEssential experience of the IT Test Engineer:Previous experience testing IT infrastructure e.g. VMware Windows Active Directory Networking Switching/Routing Software Data Centre or Software Defined NetworkingExperience in performing functional non-functional and regressions testing of MS windows server products in complex environmentsThe ability to document test procedures prepare test documentation including test plans test scripts evidence collection and defect reportingPrevious experience in manual and test management tools e.g HP Quality Centre ALM Jira and Test rails etc.Proven experience in Black Box testing white box testing SIT SAT UAT and OAT testingEssential qualifications for the IT Test Engineer:ISTQB Certified Tester MCSA Microsoft Certified Server Associate VMware Certified Practitioner (VCP) A Relevant Engineering/IT Degree or relevant equivalent experienceWe value difference and we dont have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.This role is 37 hours per week based at our Portsdown Technology Park or our customer site in Corsham 5 days per week.Portsmouth Technology Park (PTP) is one of QinetiQs key facilities focusing on advanced technology development and engineering services.
