Reporting to: The Secretary

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of the Club’s accounting records on Sage on a daily basis


  • Daily reconciliation and banking of income


  • Maintenance of purchase ledger ensuring that invoices are appropriately authorised, entered into Sage and paid when due.


  • Monitoring and reconciling bank balances


  • Processing monthly payroll systems ensuring that staff are paid timeously and that all appropriate information is remitted to HMRC.


  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and related reports for presentation to the Committee and appropriate sub-committees of the Club.


  • Liaising with the Club’s accountants to provide information necessary for the submission of VAT and other tax returns.


  • Preparation of year end accounts and related papers and liaising with the Club’s auditors


  • Treasury management – liaising with the Club’s investment managers to identify suitable strategies to maximise investment returns in line with any Committee approved investment risk strategy.


  • Treasury management – managing cashflows to ensure sufficient resources are available to meet the Club’s financial obligations.


  • Preparation of annual budget for approval by the Committee including recommendations for subscription rates, wage increases etc.


  • Monitor performance against budget and where appropriate prepared updated budgets and forecasts.


  • Prepare annual Member subscription renewals and ensure that subscriptions are timeously collected.
