Purpose of the role:

Restaurant Manager to ensure that the restaurant operates efficiently and profitably while maintaining brand standards and good reputation. Organise daily shift briefs for Servers. Responsible for the restaurant's business performance, quality standards, and health and safety, as well as staff and customer satisfaction.

Main responsibilities:These include but are not limited to

Work Place Policies

  • To arrive minimum of ten minutes before your shift starts
  • To adhere to the uniform Policy
  • To Look smart and presentable at all times
  • Implement and adhere to the weekly and daily task rotas

Health & Safety

  • Comply & follow all Health and Safety requirements
  • Complete all E-Learning Modules within 14 days of starting within the company
  • Ensure your employees use your companys issued PPE and property as Required
  • To comply with COSHH regulations with regards to storing and using hazardous substances
  • To be fully aware of and comply with fire regulations. To ensure that no fire exits are obstructed
  • Only purchase and use chemicals from All star Lanes authorised list of chemicals
  • To be fully aware of and comply with fire regulations. To ensure that no fire exits are obstructed
  • Comply and follow all Alcohol Licensing requirements
  • Follow the Companys allergen procedures

Training

  • Ensure all training received is recorded in flow on an ongoing basis and where needed to be signed off by the Manager
  • Manage training for new and existing Trainees ensure a minimum venue score of 90%
  • To have read and understood bowling, kitchen and restaurant Etiquette
  • Ensure all employees receive and complete assigned training modules within 14 days of commencing employment
  • Ensure any additional Training/Learning to be assigned and signed off
  • Monitor all existing and ongoing training

Front of House

  • Restaurant Manager to oversee the full Restaurant operation
  • To manage the till and booking computer systems
  • To deal efficiently and politely with all calls and enquires
  • To be friendly and welcoming to all diners
  • Manage all guest enquiries and complaints
  • Manage all bookings, event and Private functions
  • Ensure the restaurant is clean and tidy
  • Leave efficient hand over notes
  • Any other reasonable duties when required
  • Ensure all open tabs are redeemed and closed
  • Communicate with other departments/managers on any issues related to guests
  • Implementing appropriate strategies to resolve company needs

Administration

  • Ensure daily, weekly checklists is to company standards and meets deadlines
  • Assist in to day administration ensuring booking compliance and all paperwork for private events and packages is completed
  • Review Mystery Diner reports and create action plans for junior members of Staff

Leadership

  • Lead by example, setting the pace and standards
  • Restaurant Manager to be proactive in problem solving
  • Can work on own initiative to deal with problems
  • Manage all guest complaints and support employees
  • Communicate via team meetings, email, notice boards and written

Stock control

  • Manage low stock levels so the department is adequately stocked with all necessary components
  • Carry out accurate stock takes on the set monthly periods as requested
  • To ensure that all stocks, keys, equipment and chemicals are kept secure at all times
  • Ensure any anomalies are recorded monitored and investigated
  • Control broken, worn or used parts and record to Maintenance Manager for stock control

Building maintenance

  • Record all damaged, faulty, and broken equipment to the duty Manager.
  • Report any bowling lane issues to a Technician
  • Liaise with Tech Manager on maintenance issues
  • Ensure maintenance tracker is up to date and followed up

Ordering /Purchase orders

  • Notify the Assistant General/General Manager of all substandard or incorrect items received
  • Notify the Assistant General/General Manager of missing parts or shortfalls to orders
  • Place orders in the absence of the AGM if required to do so
  • All orders placed using online or email
  • Only nominated suppliers used and petty cash purchases are minimum to zero
  • Ensure no unauthorised suppliers are used when ordering unless authorised

Deliveries

  • All deliveries on the day of arrival checked and signed off on the delivery note and filed in the corresponding folder. Report any discrepancies to the Assistant General/General

HR

  • Ensure you are following the signing in and out of timecards
  • Restaurant Manager to ensure Employee performance are reviewed
  • Ensure yearly employee Appraisals are completed

Holidays

  • Take all holiday requests to the Assistant General Manager for authorisation and make sure Its logged in with Fourth.
  • Ensure your holiday time is taken within the set time limits, (currently 1st August to 31st July), when suitable for the business (i.e. -business downtime)
  • Ensure all employee Holidays are aligned with holiday policy
