Sexual Offences Examiner/Experienced Forensic Physician - Huntingdon CambridgeshireBase Location: The Elms SARC Hinchingbrooke Hospital Hinchingbrooke Park Road Huntingdon PE29 6NTThis role predominantly covers both paediatric and adult services. Some travel will be a requirement of this role. Weekend working and evenings is the main requirement but may be occasionally needed for in-hours shifts for resilience and training purposes. Salary: (pro rata)Part Time and Full Time considered.Rota : 9pm-9am Mon-Sun mainly on-call. As a Sexual Offence Medical Examiner you will learn through clinical placements and blended learning as well as receive further personal support with an allocated mentor. We will identify an individualised programme of education and exposure to clinical environments providing opportunities for examinations in addition to financial support whilst undertaking this post.What makes this post different:Flexible rota prioritising educational and development activities1:1 monthly supervision with allocated mentor safeguarding supervisor or Line ManagerAdditionally taking part in research audit teaching and sitting FFLM exams will be encouraged.If you want to be part of this exciting team we look forward to hearing from you. Police vetting requires 3 years residence in the UK.Key Responsibilities Will Include:Forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits.Develop Forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines.Actively working in partnership with external MDTs and Police.Point of contact for Police and Social Services to discuss referral pathways.Undertaking holistic assessments including sexual health mental health and safeguarding.Supporting the continued quality improvement of the service.Working under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements.Obtaining consent for Health and Forensic proceduresTravel for training days will also be a requirement of this role. Hotel and subsistence will be reimbursed in line with the Expenses PolicyEssential Skills Required:GMC-registered DoctorA minimum of 3 years relevant post Foundation experience.Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adults.Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality.Experience of working in Sexual health Paediatrics GP or Obs/Gynae.Because of the nature of the Sexual Offence Examiner applications are invited from females only. This post has a genuine occupational qualification under the Sex Discrimination Act Section 7(2)b and 7(2)e.A UK driving license is required for this role and access to a vehicle.Advanced DBS and level 2 Police vetting will be required.
