I'm working with a fast growing and ambitious SME, where your work matters. They are on a mission to power a greener tomorrow. As the energy sector transforms, helping businesses and communities lead the shift to renewables, creating smarter, more sustainable solutions that make a real difference.The Bid Writer will develop high-quality written proposals to secure funding and delivery contracts for Local Authority Warmer Homes schemes. This role supports the business by producing compelling submissions for energy-efficiency, retrofit, fuel-poverty, and government-funded home-upgrade initiatives.- Research and interpret tender documentation from Local Authorities and government bodies.- Write clear, persuasive, complaint-bid content tailored to each opportunity.- Work with technical, operational and finance teams to gather accurate information.- Develop case studies, method statements, and project delivery plans.- Maintain a library of standard content and update boilerplate materials.- Assist in opportunity scanning and bid/no-bid assessments.- Ensure all submissions meet deadlines, formatting and compliance requirements.- Support quality assurance checks, including proofreading and formatting.- Track success rates and contribute to continuous improvement.Essential Skills & Experience- Strong written communication with ability to translate technical concepts into clear narratives.- Experience writing bids within energy, construction, housing, or public-sector programmes.- Ability to analyse tender specifications and identify key win themes.- High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.- Proficiency with MS Office and bid-management tools.Desirable- Knowledge of energy-efficiency schemes.- Experience working with Local Authorities or housing providers.Role Success Indicators- Bid quality score.- Win rate percentage.- On-time submission rate.- Content library accuracy.On offerSalary and benefits package.
