You’ll join a high-performing team developing next-gen consumer products, with ownership from concept to tooling release. £45,000 to £50,000 salary, hybrid structure, and the chance to shape how design excellence scales in a growing team.Scope of the Role:As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll take the lead on end-to-end product development, solving complex technical challenges through precise design execution.Develop robust, manufacturable mechanical designs for consumer products using SolidWorks.Own CAD modelling, assemblies, and surface modelling to production-ready standards.Collaborate closely with electronics, industrial design, and manufacturing teams.Apply DFM and injection moulding expertise to ensure smooth tooling release.Support prototype testing, iteration, and validation with high attention to detail.Key Skills and Experience Required:Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Product Design Engineer or Mechanical Engineer in consumer products.Hands-on experience with SolidWorks design (assemblies, surfacing, detailing).Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely aligned discipline.Advanced knowledge of injection moulding and design for manufacture principles.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative environment with hybrid flexibility.Salary and Benefits:£45,000 to £50,000 basic salary, depending on experience.Hybrid setup: 2 days a week, onsite in Worcester.Influence how a six-strong design team evolves as new projects launch.Weekly team check-ins and open, cross-functional collaboration.Fast-moving, technically focused environment with maximum ownership and minimal red tape.This Mechanical Design Engineer role sits within a high-accountability, low-ego team that values technical depth, collaboration, and clarity.
