Job Description

QSW - Childrens - Senior Practitioner - ATLAS

Key Responsibilities
To fulfil the obligations outlined in the Children Act 1989 and related laws concerning children in need, especially those requiring protection and those under the care of the authority.
The Atlas social worker will initially work with the Team Manager to develop the following areas:

  • Intervention programmes for young people at risk of exploitation.
  • Develop and deliver training to social workers and partner agencies.
  • Lead on complex mapping exercises
  • Undertake 1:1 pieces of work with a small number of young people / co-work with allocated social workers.
  • Provide expert advice and support.

Assess and Provide Services: Under supervision, assess and provide services to children and families in need, following relevant legislation, regulations, and child care policies. This includes complex cases.Efficient Service Delivery: Ensure efficient and effective service provision by collaborating with other divisions, Council Departments, NHS trusts, schools, carers, and independent sector providers.Professional Standards: Maintain high professional standards within your workload and promote best practices within the team.Supervision and Management: Senior Practitioners may supervise staff (up to level III Social Workers) and share operational management
