Role: System Safety Engineer – Defence Location: Bristol or Yeovil – Hybrid, 3 days onsite Role Type: 12 months – initially Salary: Up to £70 an hour, depending on experience Our globally renowned aerospace client is seeking an experienced System Safety Engineer to join its specialist Safety Engineering team supporting a range of UK defence aerospace programmes. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of safety case artefacts for Boeing products and services within the UK defence domain, ensuring that systems meet the highest safety and certification standards throughout their lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: * Apply recognised system safety methodologies and tools to define and manage safety requirements in line with defence and aerospace regulations. * Conduct system safety and hazard analyses, ensuring compliance with relevant standards such as Def Stan 00-056 and MIL-STD-882E. * Develop structured safety arguments and documentation, including Safety Cases and Service Assurance Cases, using frameworks such as Goal Structuring Notation (GSN) or Claims, Argument and Evidence (CAE). * Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project leads, and external stakeholders to integrate safety principles across all phases of the product and service lifecycle.
