My Client, a big ticket International bank in the City, seeks a mid level Liquidity/ALM Risk banker, to join their broader Risk function in London.

Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

As directed by the Head of Risk & ALM:

  1. Support the Head and the Risk & ALM teams in the day-to-day management of risk, with particular focus on liquidity risk and ALM, but also other risk-related activities.
  2. Act as joint / assistant Secretariat for ALCO.
  3. Produce management information of liquidity risk for ALCO, Subsidiary Risk & Compliance (RCC) and Branch Risk Committee meetings.
  4. Assist the Department Head and the Liquidity Risk Team and join the respective inter-departmental working groups in the annual updates of the ILAAP and RRP for liquidity risk of the Subsidiary, as well as other UK regulatory compliance work.
  5. Propose and provide advice on liquidity risk management strategy, framework, policy and procedure, and assist in the annual updates of risk-related policy documents owned by Risk & ALM.
  6. Liquidity Risk Management: As a member of Liquidity Risk Team which  directed by the Department Head, including but not limited to: -
  • Daily LCR/NSFR monitoring, weekly monthly and quarterly liquidity reports for various stakeholders, including Parent Bank and Senior Management. [Specifically: HO returns G21-G25);
  • Monitor the Bank’s liquidity position and buffer on a daily basis, conduct daily liquidity forecasting and perform ad hoc analyses;
  • Produce management information of liquidity risk for ALCO and Risk & Compliance Committee meetings.
  1. Internal liquidity risk stress testing, including regular review of the scenarios to ensure that they are relevant and up-to-date.
  2. Subsidiary only: assist Department Head in Recovery and Resolution Planning, including annual update of the Recovery Plan.
  3. Subsidiary only: participate in annual update of ILAAP/ICAAP and Pillar 3 Statement.
  4. Oversight of RFR upload process: assist Department Head in the daily RFR upload process.
  5. Other tasks as directed by the Head of Risk & ALM Department, including but not limited to ongoing streamlining and automation of processes, etc.

Skills / Qualifications Required:

  1. Fully aware of industry trends and best practices, with a minimum of 5 years’ risk management experience with reputable banks / FIs (ideally smaller / foreign), with particular focus on liquidity risk and ALM.
  2. Full understanding, and correct interpretation of, regulatory regimes and requirements regarding liquidity risk (LCR/NSFR monitoring, etc.) and ALM, ideally through participation in ALCO, either as a member or attendee. 
  3. Involvement in preparation of ILAAP and ideally also Pillar 3 and ICAAP.
  4. Also useful (but not mandatory): exposure to / working knowledge of: enterprise risk management (ERM), Recovery and Resolution Planning (e.g. annual update of Recovery Plan) and operational resilience.
  5. Strong team working skills (preferably in multicultural workplaces), including participation in risk management projects and working groups as joint / assistant Secretariat as well as action owner.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including active participation in group discussions / meeting such as ALCO.
  7. Able to deliver accurate and comprehensive risk reports, and propose meaningful, constructive, proportionate and forward-looking solutions and suggestions.
  8. Assist in regulatory change projects and horizon scanning, working with stakeholders at all levels of the Bank.
