Role Description


We are seeking a full-time  Consultant – Manufacturing Engineering to join our UK Team.

As a consultant you will be working at the customer's sites across the UK and possibly abroad (travel is essential).

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Improvement: Analyse and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Implement Lean methodologies (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, etc.) to improve production flow and reduce operational bottlenecks.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage improvement projects from inception through to successful implementation, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Client Engagement: Work closely with automotive manufacturing clients to understand their operational challenges and provide actionable improvement strategies.
  • Capacity Planning & Optimization: Analyse production lines for capacity constraints and design solutions to improve throughput and efficiency.
  • Equipment & Automation: Evaluate current manufacturing equipment and recommend upgrades or automation solutions to enhance productivity and reduce manual intervention.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis to solve manufacturing problems and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
  • Mentorship & Training: Provide training and mentorship to client staff on best practices in manufacturing engineering and process optimization.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, ideally within the automotive industry.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in manufacturing tools and systems (e.g., CAD/CAM, MES, ERP, etc.), and expertise in process optimization methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma). Excel is essential.
  • Certifications: Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies are highly desirable.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend effective solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and engage effectively with clients.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to client sites across the UK and possibly abroad to deliver consulting services.
