Whether you want to build your skills take the next step in your career or set yourself up for your dream job we are here to support you along the way.Apprentice Parks and Gardens/Horticulture TraineeIn this position you will work in our Parks Maintenance team to help maintain Councils parks reserves sports fields cemeteries and other recreational assets.You will operate and maintain park maintenance plant and equipment and contribute to the upkeep of natural assets such as trees shrubs groundcover plantings street garden beds floral displays and turf areas.The role requires that you:Have a genuine interest and aptitude for working in Councils community spacesAre motivated to develop your career in this fieldCan demonstrate diligence through past study or work experienceIf youre genuinely committed to jump-starting your career in parks and gardens we want to hear from you Youll stand out by showing reliability and focus and your application will reflect the hard work and commitment you put into everything you do.The qualification for this position is to be confirmed but will be through TAFE NSW to attain a Certificate III in either Horticulture (24 months) or Parks and Gardens (3 years).Please note that to be a successful candidate for this role youll be required to complete a pre-employment basic skills assessment and medical check (medical assessment will include a drug and alcohol test sight and hearing functional and medical component).Commencement:Tuesday 27 January 2026.Remuneration: The salary for this traineeship ranges from approximately$31288 to $53196 p.a. in accordance with theLocal Government (State) Award. Your salary will be determined based on your age qualifications and any previous work experience. Superannuation (12%) is additional.Location: Upon commencement your normal place of work will be the MidCoast Council Depot located at 5 Oak Street Gloucester.
