Tax and Compliance Manager

A major UK & International freight forwarding organisation are looking for a business Tax & Compliance Manager to manage a small business tax and compliance team. The client is seeking a candidate with extensive experience in business finance or tax, who possesses strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with SAP will be essential for success in this role.
ROLE Business Tax & Compliance Manager
LOCATION: Yorkshire
BASIC SALARY: £60k to £70k plus benefits
ROLE:
Overseeing business tax reporting.
Managing statutory obligations.
Driving compliance with local and international regulations.
Your expertise will be pivotal in optimising our tax strategies and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Oversee the production and completion of all tax returns and declarative statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Manage the production and completion of all local GAAP and statutory reporting for the company, maintaining adherence to accounting standards and regulations.
Serve as the first point of contact for Statutory Auditors, facilitating audits and providing necessary documentation and support.
Take ownership of tax reporting towards Group Finance, including deferred tax calculations and finalisation of tax tools.
Act as the contact person for Group Tax regarding tax optimization projects in the UK and Ireland, working under the supervision and leadership of Group Tax.
Manage communications with external tax authorities and other public administrations, ensuring timely responses and compliance with inquiries.
Lead and develop a team of professionals, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.
Supervise VAT reporting and account reconciliation processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with VAT regulations.
Oversee Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting initiatives, ensuring alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
This is a business tax role, corporation tax and VAT etc, the ideal candidate must have experience of business tax and compliance. This experience can be gained from being in a generalistic finance and accounting management role, but they must show their passion and enthusiasm for the business tax side. Also must have management experience, direct reports who are business tax specialits.
