Job Summary

Responsible for all aspects of product quality.

To assist the QA/Technical Manager in implementing food safety, quality and hygiene systems across the UK business.

Provide competent and efficient technical administrative support to both internal and external customers.

To maintain site technical systems and compliance against customer standards.

Teamwork

· Support other members of the Technical team regarding issues as they arise.

· To deputise for other team members when required

· To work closely with members of other teams throughout Group.

· Actively assist others to find solutions to problems.

· Contribute ideas and solutions to improve the team’s service delivery.

· To cover other team members in their absence.

· Ensure there is a close working relationship between members of the team within the department

Communication

· Clearly and effectively communicate with individuals within the business, Group, suppliers and customers to ensure a good working relationship

· Keep the Technical manager fully informed and up to date on any issues

· Convey a clear, timely and positive message that influences the thoughts and actions of others

· Share information appropriately - ensure that all persons are kept involved of key decisions within the department (UK & Group).

Strategic

· To understand the importance of HACCP and to work closely with colleagues throughout the business to ensure that we at all times maintain the necessary standards.

· Champion the use of the highest quality raw materials and finished products.

· Ensure the safety, quality and legality of the products packed in our own factory in the UK

· Ensure that all suppliers understand the importance of high quality, safe raw materials

· Maintain the Company focus on quality products through communication and education.

· To assist the Technical Manager with ad hoc projects.

Analytical

· Ensure that all documentation is completed in a timely and accurate fashion.

· Embrace the QMS system and use this as a tool for continual improvement.

Responsibilities & Expertise

· Maintain clear food supply chain database

· Swabbing in the factory

· Preparing product samples and organising laboratory collection and dispatch for analysis

· Liaising requirements and quality issues with the inventory team and group supplier assurance team, where necessary

· Liaising with customers, consumers and suppliers where necessary

· Support the BSM’s and customers

· leader of customer code of practices and ensuring that high standards are adhered to, analysis of customer requirements and recommendations, point of contact for Food Safety matters during customer visits, audit trends in the market and liaise with the commercial team,

· Maintaining site reports and product KPI’s

· Completion and update of customer specifications and consumer complaint management, corrective action and resolutions.

· Audit and maintain quality assurance records. Complete internal audits. Examples: Site Training requirements, Critical Control Points.

· Keep QMS documentation up to date and improve where needed.

· Provide information to Technologist’s based on customer requests.

· Contribute to the HACCP team.

· Lead customer audits at the site or Support the Technical Manager preparing and during customer audits.

· Confident communication skills are vital for this role in order to liaise with members of staff and customers.

Compliance

· Maintain a full understanding of the legal requirements required within the departments and also within the business to be able to operate with full legal compliance.

· Internal Auditor

· HACCP

· BRC audit experience

· Good computer skills - Word, Excel

· Clean driving license
